02 - 1 teaspoon salt
03 - ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 teaspoon onion powder

→ Salad Base

06 - 6 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
07 - 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
08 - ½ cup red onion, thinly sliced
09 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
10 - 1 dill pickle, sliced

→ Sauce

11 - ½ cup mayonnaise
12 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
13 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
14 - 1 teaspoon white vinegar
15 - 1 teaspoon pickle relish
16 - ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika

→ Toppings

17 - 1 avocado, sliced
18 - 4 strips cooked bacon, crumbled
19 - Sesame seeds

# Steps:

01 - Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook while breaking up the meat until browned and cooked through, approximately 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
02 - While the beef cooks, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, white vinegar, pickle relish, and smoked paprika in a small bowl until thoroughly combined. Set aside until serving.
03 - Divide chopped lettuce evenly among four serving bowls. Arrange cherry tomatoes, red onion slices, shredded cheddar cheese, and dill pickle slices on top of the lettuce in each bowl.
04 - Distribute the cooked ground beef evenly over the top of each salad bowl while still warm.
05 - Generously spoon the prepared burger sauce over each bowl, distributing evenly among servings.
06 - Top with sliced avocado, crumbled bacon, and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately while beef is warm.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • All the satisfaction of a juicy burger without the post meal slump that heavy buns bring
  • The homemade sauce comes together in seconds and makes everything taste better
02 -
  • The sauce tastes even better if you make it an hour ahead and let it hang out in the fridge
  • Warm beef against cold crisp lettuce is the whole point here so do not let everything cool down too much
03 -
  • Drain the beef really well so your bowls do not end up sitting in a pool of grease
  • Double that sauce recipe because you will want to put it on everything else all week
