- Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly. Peel if desired. Slice potatoes lengthwise into 1/4-inch thick sticks using a sharp knife and cutting board.
- Submerge cut potato sticks in a large bowl of cold water and soak for 30 minutes to eliminate excess starch.
- Drain the potatoes and use kitchen towels to dry them thoroughly to prevent soggy fries.
- Place the fries in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, add sea salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Toss until the potatoes are evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for 3 minutes to ensure an even cooking environment.
- Arrange the seasoned fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.
- Cook the fries for 15–20 minutes, removing and shaking the basket halfway through to promote even crisping. Continue until fries are golden and crisp.
- Season the fries with additional sea salt to taste, if desired, and serve immediately while hot.
